It was almost a schizophrenic report from Special Counsel Robert Hur.

What was more damning – the contents of top-secret classified information and documents that were "willfully," and inappropriately, retained and disclosed by Joe Biden for years as senator and vice president, or Hur's report that characterized him as an old man with a poor memory who is not in command of his surroundings?

Hur thread the needle between laying out an airtight case against Biden for possession of the papers and utter incompetence as president.

Even some of Biden's greatest Democrat champions were baffled by the damning report and what Biden did to counteract it with an angry press conference later that evening.

"This is terrible for Democrats," said former Clinton adviser Paul Begala.

It was either an non-indictment on the documents issue or something far worse – an indictment under the 25th Amendment.

Already, at least one member of Congress, Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., has asked Hur's boss, Attorney General Merrick Garland, to invoke it immediately to remove Biden from office.

Hur said the president's practices had presented "serious risks to national security," and described in his report several instances of the president suffering from memory loss. He added that part of the reason he didn't pursue charges against Biden was because the president could portray himself as an "elderly man with poor memory" who would be sympathetic to a jury.

Every conscious American has witnessed this firsthand. Never before has a president showed so clearly a case of incompetence. Hardly one of his press conferences or public appearances fails to show the evidence. It has become embarrassing. It has become newsworthy. If the man can't be tried for high crimes and misdemeanors, surely he must be stripped of his office, even if it means Vice President Kamala Harris would replace him.

The 25th Amendment would do that. One of its sections provides the vice president and majority of either the Cabinet "or such other body as Congress may by law provide" with a mechanism to transfer power from the president.

"President Biden needs to be charged, or he needs to be removed," wrote Tenney. "There is no middle ground." She added that it was "incumbent" upon Garland to begin those proceedings.

"We don't prosecute or decline to prosecute people based on their personalities, or on the public's anticipated perception of them," Tenney wrote. "If Special Counsel finds that the evidence forms a reasonable basis to bring charges, he must do so."

Tenney compared Hur's decision in his investigation of Biden to Special Counsel Jack Smith's bringing charges against former President Donald Trump for his handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. The Department of Justice "cannot ethically bring charges" against Trump "because he has mental acuity and a forceful personality" while declining to bring charges against Biden because of his "cognitive decline."

Hur raised the issue most Americans are speculating about – people including former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Biden poses a danger to the entire country. What else can we do?

What makes Joe Biden untouchable? He's a doddering old man. I don't think so – and, according to a recent poll by NBC News, three-quarters of voters, including half of Democrats, say they have concerns about his mental and physical health. ABC News found that 86% of Americans think Biden is "too old."

Do you? Is that the only concern you have about him?

I haven't cared about Super Bowl mania for a number of years.

Why should I? Maybe because the world is basically on fire? Yeah, that's about right. That sums it up.

But this year I'm a little for curious about Brock Purdy, the second-year quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers. Let me tell you why.

The first thing Brock Purdy said about leading one of the greatest comebacks ever to get a shot at the Super Bowl was, "all glory to God."

That may seem to some to be almost an anachronism.

But, hold on. Not so fast. When asked in an interview, what kept him grounded, the young quarterback said, "I would say my faith. Everything I do is for God, so I don't get wrapped up by saying look I'm playing in the NFL, and I have to hold onto this thing that I do for a job. I just let that go to God."

And than there's this: "Whatever I'm doing, I know what my purpose is, that's in the Lord. That's where my identity is."

And this: "It's my faith in God. That's it."

And: "One if the things I've been reading throughout the season is Mark 8:34. Jesus is telling his disciples if you want to follow me, deny yourself, just take your cross and follow me."

And how about this one: "I've never been the biggest, the fastest, the strongest or any of that. But God's always given me an opportunity whether it's been in high school, college, or obviously, the NFL. All you need is a chance … and trust in Him."

I think this guy is real. Even more important, his FAITH is real. And he understands REPENTANCE, turning away from sin perpetually (Acts 3:26).

In Acts 3:19-26, Peter explains this under the Spirit:

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

"And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

"Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

"For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

"And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

"Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

"Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

"Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

You think Brock Purdy might be a good influence on some young fans? I do.

President Donlad Trump told Maria Bartiromo on FBN's "Sunday Morning Futures" that after the drone strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani in 2020, Iranians fired 16 missiles at targets in Iraq but deliberately missed U.S. targets.

Said Trump: "Now I reveal it: The media was going wild. It's strange, they're very accurate missiles. … But nobody was killed. Now. they had to do it. … So they aimed the missiles, but they didn't hit us. That was respect. We had respect."

That was not all.

"When we took out Soleimani, Israel was supposed to do it with us. … And two days before, they said, 'We can't do it,'" Trump expalined. What? With only two days left until the planned strike, it was now in jeopardy. "I asked a certain general, can we do it alone? He said, 'We can, sir. It's up to you.' I said we would do it."

Trump has never before told the word that Israel had once been a partner in the attack on Soleimani. He also talked about Joe Biden's latest foreign misadventures.

"He shouldn't even be talking about what he's going to do," Trump said. "But, he's incompetent – everybody knows it. Somebody's making decisions there. It's not him. …

"When it comes to certain countries, he's a Manchurian Candidate. He gets a lot of money from China."

But most of all, Trump talked about the border fiasco that has finally gotten the attention it deserves from the American people.

"I think the number is going to be 18 million [migrants entering the U.S.] by the time he gets out," Trump said. "That's bigger than New York state. Our country is being destroyed."

How will Trump solve the border problem? Will he use executive orders? Will he be a dictator?

"There's nothing wrong with using executive orders. Biden is using executive orders all the time," Trump insisted. "Four years, we had no wars, we defeated ISIS. I knocked out the biggest terrorists in the world. I cut taxes. I cut regulation – we had the greatest economy in the history of our country. …

"We rebuilt the military, developed Space Force, which is turning out to be very essential and maybe our most important force. … People though it was a joke when I created it," he said.

Returning to the immigration issues, Trump told Bartiromo: "We're going to have to deport a lot of them. It's not sustainable. From China there are 28,000 people here. What are they doing – building an army? They are almost all men from the age of 18 to 25. So what's that all about? …

"We cannot afford scenes like I saw two days ago in New York City, policemen are being beaten up by gangs of illegal immigrants, in that case from Venezuela, Honduras. We can't allow that. Look, I built 561 miles of wall. I got Mexico to give us 28,000 soldiers free of charge. … and we had the best border we ever had. Now we have the worst border in the world. I believe we're going to have a terrorist attack, 100 percent. During my term I had no terrorist attacks, right? I had all kinds of bans on people that couldn't come into the country. There was nothing that happened."

His mind was fixated on China for much of the interview. According to Trump, we have to have an answer to the rising aspirations of China:

"Their stock market almost crashed when it was announced that I won the Iowa primary," Trump said. "When I won New Hampshire their stock market went down like crazy. But I'm not eager to hurt China, but they really hurt our country. It's not sustainable for this country to lose $500 billion dollars a year ever year. No country can sustain that. We let that happen because the people who ran our country allowed it."

Will China interfere in our elections?

"I think they will," Trump said. "We need to go same-day voting, paper ballots, voter ID and no mail-in ballots." However, none of that will take place this election year.

Nevertheless, he's optimistic about his chances. He hears things. He remains an optimist. One reason is he likes what he hears – like Mitch McConnell wants to endorse him. Sen. John Cornyn just did. "Everybody is getting on board." They're all ready to kiss the ring.

Trump thinks he has a chance to flip New York – and maybe New Jersey. "I think Virginia can be flipped, I think New Mexico, too, cand be flipped. And I think Minnesota can be flipped. I'm not even sure if everything can be flipped."

He's faced with 91 charges amid multiple indictments. Does he ever think about that?

"These are not indictments. They are Biden indictments," Trump says. "This nation is failing. Our country is going to hell. And it's an honor for me, any time I'm indicted for you, it's an honor for me."

Trump is an eternal optimist – and unwaveringly confident.

Have you noticed the way Nikki Haley says anything she thinks is appropriate in the moment – then denies it later, despite the existence of a transcript and a recording?

As an example, here's what the presidential candidate told NBC News on Jan. 28 in talking about the E. Jean Carroll "rape" case in New York against President Donald Trump:

"I absolutely trust the jury, and I think that they made their decision based on the evidence. I just don't think that should take [Trump] off the ballot. I think the American people will take him off the ballot."

Let me tell you about the destructive pathology of Nikki Haley.

She often says contradictory things like the above, making statements and then denying them 15 minutes later. I hope she familiarizes herself with the transcript and recording this time. I think that soundbite will end her political career – at least in 2024.

Kristen Walker of "Meet the Press" had asked Haley this question: "Let's talk about the court case. On Friday, a jury ordered Donald Trump to pay writer E. Jean Carroll $83 million for damages for defamation, and as you know this was a year after a different jury found him liable for sexual abuse. … Should that be disqualifying to be president?"

Her response initially was appropriate – as far as it went.

"I think we allow the American people to decide who should be disqualified," she said. "It's the same thing with the RNC picking the nominee. We don't need to take over anything the American people have the right to do. I've always said that Donald Trump had the right to be on the ballot. I've always said I trust the America people. They know how to make good decisions. So I think they're going to see this for what it is. They see that he's completely distracted. They see that he's going on these rants about how he's the victim, and I think that's exactly what we don't need a strong leader to be. And so these court cases are going to keep happening, and one by one we're going to see him in a courtroom and coming out and giving a press conference. That's not what you want a president to be, that's not what we want Russia to see, that's not what we want China to see, and that's not what we want Iran to see."

But then a leading question by the host got her in trouble: "And what is unique about this case is that it has now ruled, they have found him liable of sexual abuse. Do you not trust the jury? Do you trust their findings?"

That's when Nikki stepped in it. That's when she said she honestly trusted this New York, tainted, biased jury. Nobody trusts it – not even native New Yorkers!

"I absolutely trust the jury, and I think that they made their decision based on the evidence," she said. "I just don't think that should take [Trump] off the ballot. I think the American people will take him off the ballot. That's the way to go forward – not let him play the victim. Let him play the loser. That's what we want him to do at the end of the day."

Nikki Haley is a politician – a grasping, say-anything-about-her-opponent, entitled candidate, and not a part of the MAGA Nation.

Say what you will about Donald J. Trump. He's a very gracious man. Obviously, he's competitive. And he loves his country.

Where were all the enemies of Trump when he was just an great businessman? He was the toast of the town in New York! Everybody loved the guy – even Hillary Clinton.

Nikki, do you really believe that cock-and-bull story that Trump raped a woman in the '90s and she just decided to punish him now?

You just disqualified yourself – and not just from the presidential race.

You heard about the verdict in Donald Trump's latest show trial in New York?

This was the one in which a former washed-up advice columnist, E. Jean Carroll, 80 years old, accused the former president of the United States of damaging her reputation by calling her a liar after she charged him with a sexual assault in a department store in 1996. Trump says he never met the woman.

For the "rape" claim, she was awarded $5 million last May. For this much lesser charge she got $83 million. Go figure. Carroll never thought to charge Trump during his first presidency or his second run for the office, but only when New York presented itself as a target-rich environment for all things Trump. He's facing at least three other trials in New York – all of them deeply political.

Trump jokes at his campaign rallies that he's been indicted more times that Al Capone.

But $83 million is a lot of money when you are running a presidential campaign. It's also a lot of time spent in courtrooms. The trouble for the Democrats is that the more his opponents indict him, the more popular he gets. Also, the more Joe Biden "fixes" America, the more we don't recognize it.

Take, for example, what he did with the border. What did he do? He invited everyone to literally "surge" the southern border. He ordered the Border Patrol to stop picking people up – stop arresting them, stop hassling them. The Border Patrol would no more be in that business. From henceforth they would only "process" people quickly while they were welcomed to their new homeland – the USA. Now there's 10 million more people here, illegally, than there were three years ago. And a lot fewer Americans – especially between the ages of 18-45. They are dying at that age of fentanyl poisoning – by at least 100,000 a year.

Imagine losing 100,000 mostly young people in two Boeing 747 crashes every day for five years in the United States and seeing no action by the government. It would be a crime of epic proportions. And that's just the start.

The increase in the population of the U.S. over the past three years under Biden is planned to be permanent by the Democrats – the highest ever experienced in our history. And it's rising every month, reaching beyond 300,000 last month alone. Some 25 states have joined Texas calling Biden's campaign an "invasion" of the U.S. by a totally unscreened population, warned against even by his hapless FBI director.

Greg Abbott, Texas' governor, drafted a letter noting that more than 9 million border crossers have reached our country in just three years – more than the entire population of 33 states. Meanwhile, Biden has ignored letters and pleas for help. This is obviously a gambit for unfettered immigration into mainly red states to affect elections and creating a permanent one-party nation.

Abbott has announced he will continue to build barriers of any kind he can to curtail the invasion. He also plans on calling on other states to do the job the federal government won't do. The governor also signed a new law that allows him to call on any Texas lawmen to arrest any illegal alien on sight.

Just this weekend, the House took a major step toward impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas by formalizing allegations ahead of a committee vote.

"This is now a fight for America," says Abbott. "I believe that this will all come to an end when we inaugurate a new president January 20 of next year. Because I believe a new president will be sworn in that will enforce the immigration laws of the entire country."

And that would be President Donald Trump, of course. Boy, do we need him more than ever. Biden has left us all exposed to many things – skyrocketing inflation, the economy, and a distrust of government "leadership," according to polls.

Right now, it's a two-man race – and time's a'wasting.

You saw it again Tuesday night on TV – in spades. What you witnessed was official election interference. We've seen it consistently since 2020, since Jan. 6, since Donald J. Trump's big victory was stolen before his eyes.

How did it happen?

According to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, here's exactly how it worked. In 2023, there was an attempted coup when allies of Karl Rove tried to remove him from office and turn Texas over to an election fraud outfit. It was unsuccessful. Paxton beat the rap. He beat back a Senate trial on articles of impeachment. Keep in mind, Rove is still the man who calls the shots on Fox TV – that, in itself, is another example of election interference. It never stops for Donald Trump.

In September, Paxton explained how it worked to Tucker Carlson – including how the cheating in 2020 worked.

Tucker Carlson: "They stopped counting votes on election night."

Ken Paxton: "Because what they needed to figure out was how many real votes there were so they could figure out how many mail in ballots to apply to the election. That's what they would have done in Texas, I'm convinced."

Carlson: "So you think that was fraud, right?"

Paxton: "I have no doubt, having been through that whole process."

Carlson: "It wasn't just a water leak."

Paxton: "It was definitely planned. I mean, it would have happened in Texas, I promise."

Carlson: "But can you just stop counting ballots on election night whenever you're watching TV? Oh, I know."

Paxton: "I've never seen it before in my life. I was like, I knew it when they stopped and Trump is leading in all these states. I knew exactly what they were doing. Because there's no way to know where those mail in ballots came. Anybody could have filled them out. Anybody. There's no way to know where those ballots came from."

Carlson: "That's not a dangerous conspiracy theory."

Paxton: "I watched it happen."

What happened? Overnight, Democrats dumped hundreds of thousands of mysterious votes for Joe Biden into the battleground states.

Now, election interference takes many forms – Trump faces lawfare today. He's been charged with multiple felony counts. Now Nikki Haley uses baskets of Democratic money to stay in the race. Even the RNC is sick of the fraud. It's so obvious – but ordinary Americans are not used to this.

Tucker didn't believe it until the raid on Mar-a-Largo. And then he got it. We're each picking up on reality slowly but surely.

Expect more of the same kind of fraud this year.

Even Joe Biden played the election-denier card a couple of days ago, like this: "Hello, Virginia! And the real governor, Terry McAuliffe!"

Trump gets charged with treason for such complaints.

Did you hear about the unbelievable Supreme Court's temporary decision on the wide-open border? It happened on Monday – and I'm still flabbergasted over it.

In a big win for the lawless Joe Biden, the court ruled in favor of the administrative state and against the state of Texas to disallow razor wire blockages of the border. In other words, Supreme Court Justices John Roberts, Elena Kagan, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sonia Sotomayor and Amy Coney Barrett ruled that the border must remain open at all costs. The dissenting decision came from Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch and Samuel Alito. This was one of the strangest rulings to come from the court recently.

What was Barrett thinking? Is she not concerned about the drug cartel having its way with America's border? Doesn't she know about the human trafficking taking place? Don't citizens have the right to make laws to control population streaming into the country?

This was the court's chance to strike a ruling that might have been the first blow against the open border in three years. Was Barrett confused? How could she have so ruled? It was the first time to have reined in what is expected to be up to 10 million illegal entries into the country during Biden's attack on the borders.

Texas officials, under the direction of Gov. Gregg Abbott, installed miles of barriers using barbed wire and buoys along the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass in response to record numbers of migrants arriving at the border.

The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Texas over the barriers last year. Texas sued the Biden administration in December in an attempt to stop agents from removing them. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called the Biden administration's stance an "illegal effort to aid the foreign invasion of America."

"The destruction of Texas's border barriers will not help enforce the law or keep American citizens safe," Paxton said in a statement. "This fight is not over, and I look forward to defending our state's sovereignty." Gov. Abbott said Monday that "This is not over" and he'll "continue to defend Texas' constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden administration from destroying our property."

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Tex, called on Texas officials to ignore the Supreme Court ruling.

"They have a duty under the Constitution … and every other norm of leadership of any sovereign state, to protect your citizens, period, full stop. There is no exception to that," Roy told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. "And if the Supreme Court wants to ignore that truth, which a slim majority did, Texas still had the duty, Texas leaders still have the duty, to defend their people."

The conflict escalated earlier this month when the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety erected fences and razor wire in Eagle Pass, Texas, a popular spot for migrants to cross into the United States. Texas law enforcement prevented U.S. Border Patrol from accessing the area, which Border Patrol said prevented them from saving the life of a mother and two children who drowned in the Rio Grande. Roy called the opinion from the court "unconscionable," and called for the state to ignore it in a post online.

The Texas lawmaker has called on other members of the Congressional delegation to oppose funding to the Department of Homeland Security "or any other entity facilitating this brazen violation of the security & welfare of Texans."

"It's like, if someone's breaking into your house, and the court says 'Oh, sorry. You can't defend yourself.' What do you tell the court?" Roy said. "You tell the court to go to hell, you defend yourself and then figure it out later."

"Texas was finally beginning to regain control of its border with Mexico when it took matters into its own hands. The Biden Administration is going to do anything what it can to destroy America's sovereignty," said Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz.

In response to that suit, Governor Abbott said "I like my chances" in an X post.

"Texas is the only government in America trying to stop illegal immigration," he added.

Yes it is. And that's sad. It's a tragedy, in fact. We need Donald Trump to restore order to the border.

Early in my Christian walk I had a casual relationship with Alistair Begg and his Truth for Life radio show.

As the senior pastor at Parkside Church near Cleveland, Ohio, he has authored several books, including "Preaching for God's Glory," "Name Above All Names" and "The Christian Manifesto." He had a reputation as a sound teacher, and is a speaker at the upcoming Shepherds Conference alongside John MacArthur and Steve Lawson.

He never disappointed me for years – some seventy and counting. Even as, so many pastors gave into the "wokeness" bug, Begg was rock-steady until late 2023. When he finally fell, he fell hard.

How did it come about? He said Christians should consider attending transgender weddings in ways that don't risk judgmentalism and a critical spirit.

It came about during the radio show when a Christian woman called in saying that her grandson is about to marry a "transgendered person" and wanted to know if she should attend the wedding. Begg pointed out to listeners they may not like his answer.

"Does your grandson understand your belief in Jesus?"

"Yes," she said.

"Does your grandson understand that your belief in Jesus makes it such that you can't countenance in any affirming way the choices that he has made in life?"

"Yes," she responded.

Begg suggested to her: "Well then, okay. As long as he knows that, then I suggest that you do go to the ceremony. And I suggest that you buy them a gift."

"Oh," she said. "What?" She was caught off guard.

Begg then said: "Well, here's the thing: Your love for them may catch them off guard, but your absence will simply reinforce the fact that they said, 'These people are what I always thought: judgmental, critical, unprepared to countenance anything.'"

Was this the same Alistair Begg who quoted the Apostle Paul so eloquently on Romans 1:21-32?

"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

Et tu, Alistair?

I heard you exposit on that teaching only a year earlier. What changed since then?

Was Paul just being mean? Was he being rude? Not so. Paul was right as rain when he made those professions of truth. And so will Alistair Begg when he worked it into a three-part series.

Are eternal truths no longer eternal?

Lawlessness, apostasy and doctrines of devils were in vogue in 2023

The Apostle Paul predicted it. He prophesied it. He nailed it accurately in 2 Thessalonians 2.

The day is coming that a great falling away will change the world and then reveal the man of sin, the son of perdition.

We have not been introduced to the Antichrist yet, but lawlessness, apostasy and even doctrines of devils were certainly in vogue in 2023. Any why not? That's what God's prophets assured would be coming eventually – and here we are.

Jonathan Cahn, the gifted pastor, spelled it out in his video on New Year's Eve for his fortunate church in Wayne, New Jersey.

"The Bible says that before the end of the age there will come a great apostasy, a great falling away." he said. "We can have no doubt that we're in that period now. The signs of it are all around us, and it's just unprecedented."

Last year was no ordinary year. It was practically an apocalypse. Let's review what happened:

  • One of the most celebrated songs of the culture was called "Unholy." On the Grammys, the singer, identified as an LGBT man, portrayed Satan in a performance of the song.
  • Satan was featured as a prop against Christmas displays in capital cities of the world.
  • The National Geographic reported a huge upswing in the occult.
  • One of the ways those things are spreading is through TikTok. The Chinese owners use it to recruit American children but control Chinese children's impulses.
  • The total number of American children who identify as LGBT reached a high of 25%.
  • America is now the civilization pushing extreme gender ideology on the world. We're No. 1! Joe Biden said it would be a key foreign policy "achievement" for America.
  • Disney, meanwhile, continues its practice of "queering" America's youth through its entertainment agenda.
  • The entire public school system in America is totally on board with this program. It's requiring children to choose which sexual "identity" they wish to use.
  • The FBI spearheaded persecution of pro-life activists.
  • California passed a law that if parents don't allow their children to have a choice of which sexual identity they will use, they will lose their right to keep that child.
  • This year, there was a move by the Biden administration to ban foster parents from keeping custody of their foster children if they didn't observe strict rules on gender ideology.
  • The number of teenage girls who thought of killing themselves was 1 in 3.
  • Mental illness among youth has become epidemic.
  • Killing via euthanasia is now legal in 10 states in America.
  • This year is an election year. Last year, over 90 charges were brought against the leading candidate in the polls – former President Donald Trump. He was also banned for running in Colorado by the state supreme court and by an official in Maine.
  • Oct. 7 last year was the world's biggest story – Hamas attacked Israel. It was the worst Jewish bloodbath since World War II.
  • Just about three weeks ago, the pope endorsed the blessing of homosexual marriages in the Catholic Church – blessing sin. Two years ago they decided not to do it. Why? Because they said God could not do that – bless sin. What happened? God didn't change His mind. The pope did.

It's a apostate world. Don't these examples amount to calling good evil and evil good? Listen to Isaiah in chapter 5, verse 20:

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

The day is coming that it will happen.

That's the day Jesus returns – and stays. He will fight for Israel and the remnant of saints. Do you see it now?

Back to Thessalonians 2:8 – where we started.

"And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work."

Keep your eyes open for the strong delusion that's coming. It's almost here.

It's the shortest book in the Hebrew scriptures – and, in many ways, one of the most interesting.

Why? It's eschatology pure and simple. Not many people have a background in eschatology. Most people can't even spell it. And there are many misguided opinions about the "end times," which is what the word eschatology refers to.

The book of Obadiah is very rich, and very clear, about what our future with God is all about – Israel, or Jacob, is the favored one of God. This grandchild of Abraham inherited the blessings for all time. He passed every test. He was not found lacking.

We're reminded of that once again in this little book. Jacob's brother, Esau, missed out, although he lived an interesting life in many ways. This "minor" prophet's report makes crystal clear that it's Edom, or Esau, who is not going to have a happy afterlife.

That's all the prophet wrote, for the most part. It's easily understandable.

This is the vision of Obadiah.

"Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle," it begins.

Right off the bat, this is addressed, as it were, to the heathen, or gentiles. Not, you will notice, to the Hebrews or Jews, where much of the Bible focuses.

Why? Because this book deals with a cursed piece of land occupied by Esau.

"Shall I not in that day, saith the Lord, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau? And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter," Obadiah writes in verses 8 and 9.

And why the planned slaughter, also mentioned prominently in Isaiah 63:1-3, "Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment."

Again I ask, why? Obadiah responds in verse 10: "For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever."

Continuing, Obadiah says in verse 13: "Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;"

Understand God always has a heart for His people – the Jews. What does God say about Israel – the story of Israel, the greatest story ever told?

"And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed" (Genesis 12:3).

Yet, Esau will be blotted out. Why? Was it just forsaking his birth right? No, there were many transgressions.

Again, we continue in verses 14 and 15 in Obadiah: "Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress. For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.'

Contrast that with God's everlasting affection for Jacob.

"But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the Lord hath spoken it," it reads in verses 17 and 18.

"And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's," it reads in the last verse of this short little book of Obadiah.

Not what you expected? Remember, this is the Kingdom of the Lord.
